Hello!
I’m extremely excited to share what has become my life’s ambition with all who are interested enough to venture here. What I would like to discuss in this blog is all animal life, big and small, and some of the astonishing things I’ve learned about nature. Naturally, I feel that this is also the perfect place to discuss conservation and the many ways we can work together to protect this awesome wildlife.
About myself, I have a BS in zoology, and I have worked in animal care, science education, interpretation and in research, so I have a wide range of experience in the animal science field.
For the most part, the pictures used in this blog are my own, unless otherwise specified, and are licensed under creative commons. I welcome folks to borrow my pictures or text, but not for profit and please let me know if you intend on using them for anything formal. Educators or students working on school projects, help yourself.
As far as the content goes, I will always strive for complete accuracy with the information I have chosen to write about. I consider myself a scientist at heart, and I would like to specially request that if you notice anything at all that is inaccurate, even the tiniest detail, please contact me and let me know, so I can research and fix it. I will always try to include suggestions for further reading, however if you want more information, please let me know and I will share with you whatever sources I’ve used, plus whatever other interesting things I’ve come across and where. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I am always more than happy to hear from you and to help in any research you’re doing as well. Enjoy this blog!
Cheers,
Tippy Jackson

Hedda!
I’m glad you like the site so far. I hope I can keep the expectations high. I know you know a lot of cool things, so if you know of anything you think should be highlighted, let me know.
Cheers,
Tippy

Miss you! Vanessa
Nessa! I’m so glad you enjoy the blog! We can and in fact we MUST get together if you make it up here to SF. Things have been pretty much the same up here, except that we recently lost Boomer at the Arc 😦
Miss you back
Tippy
I’ve been checking everyday for new posts and re-reading older ones. Fun site and I feel smarter after reading it each time! Thank you for making a great site.
Brandon, a colleague of mine, is an eco-activist artist who is doing some beautiful work representing toad research in galleries. Thought this may be of interest: http://greenmuseum.org/artist_index.php?artist_id=19
Thanks Julia! I’m glad you like it. New posts are up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Enjoy! And see you soon probably!
Oh, and thanks for the toad link. I will definitely check this out!
Thanks for making this website! It is so great for me to learn new things about animals since I work with wild ones in the summertime! I love this website and will tell my friends to take a look at it! 🙂
I’m glad you like it and thanks for checking it out! I put up new posts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays if you’re interested in more. Also, is there any animal you would like to see highlighted up there? Let me know!
Hello, Tippy, I’m pleased to have discovered your blog. Nice job! I’ll be putting your link up on my blog one of these days when I learn how to do a blogroll on Blogspot. My blog is on turtles: specifically, the turtles of my independent lab (mostly pancake tortoises and box turtles) and our decades exploring the potential of turtle learning and interspecies communication.
